Meet Shae Watson
ShaeMichelle Watson is an award-winning queer Settler Canadian novelist and qualifying registered psychotherapist, based in Northern Ontario.
Welcome
- My therapeutic practice relies on two-eyed seeing, the idea that with one eye, I use Indigenous knowledge, and with the other, I use Western-academic knowledge. With one eye, I hold space for traditional solutions, culturally-safe care, and professional humility; with the other, I hold space for empirical, evidence-based interventions, and person-led, solution-focused, trauma-informed approaches.
- With one eye, I hold space for those who need therapy that integrates their need for spiritually-informed care; in the other, I hold space for those who need a secular therapeutic approach.
- I'm affirming of all and ready to help you reach your mental health goals. Whether you're anxious, depressed, or simply dealing with phase of life problems like parenting, work, or relationship stress.
- I'm queer, an ordained spiritual humanist, an intentional single parent, nonbinary, a former theatre kid, and enthusiast of North American birds!
- If you've ever felt out of place or alone, I'm here for you. Reach out today to get help.

Why I do this work
I believe that everyone deserves access to compassionate, culturally informed care. Too often, therapy can feel inaccessible or disconnected from the lived realities of those seeking support.
My work is grounded in the understanding that healing is not linear and that there is no “right way” to navigate your journey. I am here to walk alongside you with respect, humility, and care
Land Acknowledgement
- I acknowledge that I live, work, and practice on Treaty 1 territory, the traditional lands of the Anishinaabe and Dakota people, and the homeland of the Métis Nation.
- I am grateful for the opportunity to work on this land and recognize the ongoing work of reconciliation that is required of me as a Settler.
Let's Connect
I would be honored to support you on your healing journey.
